About Be the Difference
While the emergent needs of the pandemic have subsided, communities across the Capital Region need more support to move forward and thrive. That’s why we pledged $3.01 million in investments earlier this year to meet the region's needs.
However, UWGCR isn’t immune to the consequences of the pandemic. Furloughs, the Great Resignation, and remote work have significantly impacted regional workforce giving, which encompasses more than 60 percent of our annual revenue. Despite cutting operational costs and other efforts, we still face a $500,000 gap in funding to maintain our commitment to the region.
Be the Difference is calling on the regional business community to help us fill the gap so we can help the communities where you live and work move on from the pandemic.

Your business’s gift will ensure continued funding for programs that help our neighbors thrive by:
Serving healthy and delicious food to kids through the Summer Meals Collaborative.
Providing individuals and families to wraparound services at five Family Neighborhood Resource Centers.
Delivering free tax preparation services through the CA$H Coalition VITA program to ensure folks receive their maximum tax refund.
Funding BIPOC-led organizations in the Changemakers Cohort addressing racial and gender disparities in their communities.
Connecting residents to essential resources like food, shelter, rent assistance, clothing, childcare, and more through 211.
