Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a FREE book-gifting program for any child under age five, no matter their family’s income. Each month, the Imagination Library mails a high-quality, age-appropriate book to all registered children, addressed to them at no cost to the child’s family. Through a shared love of reading, the program inspires more than one million children and their families to “Dream More, Learn More, Care More, and Be More.”
All children between birth and age five who live in one of the nine counties served by United Way of the Greater Capital Region (UWGCR) are eligible to enroll. UWGCR’s service area includes Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, and Schoharie County.
If you live outside of the Capital Region, you can visit this website to see if the program is available in your area.
After launching in Dolly’s home state of Tennessee in 1995, the Imagination Library now partners with Local Affiliates and Partners who help bring the program to cities, towns, and communities worldwide.
United Way of the Greater Capital Region is proud to bring this inspiring program to children in our community! Thanks to the support and generosity of our community partners, we are able to prepare children for a lifetime of success in reading and learning simply by providing them with the gift of free books.
