United Way of the Greater Capital Region Presents
Radically Reimaging Women’s Health Series: Celebrating Black Maternal Health Panel Discussion
Wednesday, April 17, 2024
10:00 - 11:30 AM
at The Blake Annex, 1 Steuben Place, Albany, NY
As we honor the beauty and joy of birth, we must also address the inexcusably high percentage of maternal deaths and complications, particularly among BIPOC women, highlighting broader failures in U.S. women’s healthcare.
Join us for the second session of the Radically Reimagining Women’s Health in the Greater Capital Region series, where our esteemed panel of women health leaders will illuminate how their advocacy is reshaping maternal health services. They'll discuss the impact on BIPOC mothers, birthing individuals, and their babies.
Panelists:
Angela Antonikowski, PhD, MA
Associate Dean, Division of Community Outreach & Medical Education, Office of Medical Education, Albany Medical College
Coretta Killikelly, DNP (c), MSN, RN
Founder and Executive Officer, CEK RN Consulting
Esther Patterson, Doula
Board Member and Co-Chair, Birthnet
Moderated by:
