Advancing Digital Inclusion in the Greater Capital Region
Co-Founded in 2021 by United Way of the Greater Capital Region with CanCode Communities, Albany Public Library, Workforce Development Institute, and BOCES, the Digital Equity Coalition of the Capital Region (DECCR) is a network of community organizations working together to ensure all residents have equitable access to technology, digital skills, and affordable internet.
DECCR strengthens community-based organizations that serve local residents by expanding access to reliable internet, digital devices, technical support, and digital learning opportunities. Through collaboration with trusted community partners, DECCR is helping build more connected and resilient communities across the Capital Region.

In today's world, digital access is essential for full participation in society. Without reliable internet access, devices, and digital skills, individuals and families may face barriers to:

GRANT OPPORTUNITY
Advancing Digital Inclusion in the Greater Capital Region
The Digital Equity Coalition of the Capital Region is pleased to launch a new funding opportunity to support organizations advancing digital inclusion throughout the Capital Region.
Through funding provided by ConnectALL, United Way of the Greater Capital Region has been awarded funding to support DECCR's mission and will regrant $400,000 to community organizations working to bridge the digital divide.
Grant Purpose
We are seeking organizations that effectively support Capital Region residents in accessing and using technology to participate fully in today's digital society.
Projects may include:
- Providing internet-enabled devices such as laptops, computers, or tablets
- Delivering digital literacy and technology training
- Offering technical support and device assistance
- Improving accessibility of digital content and services
- Supporting residents as they connect to employment, education, healthcare, and government resources online
Funding Priorities
Applications should support one or more of the following:
- Access to internet-enabled devices
- Digital literacy and skills-building
- Technical support services
- Accessible digital content and online services
