United Way of the Greater Capital Region Activates Volunteer Response to COVID-19 Crisis

ALBANY, NY  |  March 23, 2020

United Way of the Greater Capital Region has launched an online platform identifying volunteer opportunities with local agencies that are continuing to provide essential services and have a critical need for volunteers as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.

Both in-person and virtual opportunities are available at UnitedtoVolunteer.org. Current volunteer needs include sorting and stocking food pantry shelves, delivering food, prepping and passing out lunches, data management and sending e-cards.

Individuals can create a profile and sign up for one or more volunteer needs.  Agencies seeking volunteers can also create a profile and upload their needs to the website. All agencies are required to provide a statement on the safety and sanitation policies they have put in place to protect their staff, clients and volunteers.
