This September, United Way had the honor of celebrating a milestone that is close to our hearts and central to our mission: delivering more than 100,000 books into the hands of children across the Capital Region. This achievement represents more than numbers—it represents moments of discovery, imagination, and the joy of reading that thousands of children will now experience.

Opening Doors Through the Imagination Library
Thanks to the tremendous support of our donors and community partners who recognized the potential of this initiative early on, United Way of the Greater Capital Region has enrolled more than 12,000 children into Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
From their first book to their growing home libraries, each child receives the opportunity to develop a love for stories that will carry them into brighter futures and prepare them for kindergarten. With every page turned, children build not only their literacy skills but also their confidence, creativity, and curiosity.
