Reflecting on Year One of Focused Investments
Albany, NY | January 29, 2026 – United Way of the Greater Capital Region gathered with 30 of its community partners, generously funded through focused investments through partnerships with Bedrock and Hammerstone. The third Collaborative Reporting & Community Share out Session was an opportunity to highlight achievements and explore the challenges facing the nonprofit sector and the Capital Region.
Our Focused Investments are centered on three critical areas: financial wellbeing, education, and health. Together, partners are advancing meaningful progress that is already making a difference in people’s lives.
As Peter Gannon, President & CEO of United Way of the Greater Capital Region, shared,
"When we come together, each partner brings a critical building block—like LEGO pieces that only work when they’re connected. When we snap those pieces together, we are able to see something really strong take shape. And this work takes all of us, and it’s by building together that we create something stronger and more durable for our community.”
Beyond highlighting and celebrating these outcomes, the session provided an opportunity to look closely at the data and identify pattern across programs and challenges that require continued collaboration.
