Angelique Powell is the Director of Community Animation at The Blake Annex, a coworking and community hub powered by United Way of the Greater Capital Region. A Capital Region native, Angelique brings her passion for belonging, storytelling, and collaboration into every space she helps build. In her role, she connects nonprofit leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives, fostering programs and partnerships that strengthen community capacity across UWGCR’s footprint.
Beyond her organizational leadership, Angelique is a dedicated actor, arts advocate, and community organizer. She uses theatre as a tool to heal, educate, and mobilize—championing arts inclusivity and accessibility throughout the region. Her fierce advocacy, personally and professionally, creates space where everyone can thrive.
Angelique’s impact has been recognized widely: she was named one of the Albany Business Review’s Women on the Rise (2022) and 40 Under 40 (2023) and received the Impact Award from AFP-NY’s Hudson-Mohawk Chapter for her commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access.
