Each year, United Way of the Greater Capital Region hosts 518 Day—a region-wide day of volunteerism supporting dozens of local nonprofits and community-based organizations. Hundreds of volunteers from across the Capital Region come together on May 18 (hence, 518 Day) to give back and celebrate the spirit of philanthropy that strengthens our neighborhoods and communities.

Project Submission Has Closed

This mission-driven day brings together organizations and community partners through meaningful, hands-on projects and we want to work with you. 518 Day is a region's largest day of volunteerism in service to our Capital Region community.

Find volunteer-friendly projects that can be completed in a single day and make a clear impact for a local organization.

This year's projects include:

• Outdoor cleanups and beautification projects
• Packing, sorting, or organizing nonprofit/community office spaces
• Painting or light facility improvements
• Organizing donations or supplies
• Administrative prep/support projects (appropriate for volunteers)
