United Way Selects Chief Impact Officer, Claire Reid

 

 

Albany, NY - Claire Reid joined United Way of the Greater Capital Region (UWGCR) as the Chief Impact Officer. Reid will oversee all Community Impact departmental activities including planning, development and execution of UWGCR’s impact agenda, building community relationships, and leveraging strategies and innovations for broad investments and impact.

Reid comes to UWGCR from the University of Winnipeg, Canada, where she was the Director of the Master’s in Development Practice: Indigenous Development, a graduate degree program in sustainable community development which centers Indigenous ways of knowing and experiences.

“Claire is an outstanding addition to the UWGCR Community Impact team, bringing an extensive background in social justice advocacy work and human rights research,” said Peter Gannon, UWGCR President & CEO. “Claire will lead the development and implementation of a bold, new community impact strategy that will help us effectively meet basic needs and provide immediate support to individuals and families in the Capital Region, and advance long-term initiatives to challenge systemic inequities.”
