From January to April, 16 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)/AARP tax aide sites are operational throughout Albany County.  These sites help working families access the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and provide free tax preparation to working families, individuals and seniors. Find a location near you and call for an appointment.

WHAT: FREE Tax Preparation for Income-Eligible Individuals (2009 annual earned income below $49,000). Have your taxes prepared by IRS-Certified VITA/TCE volunteer preparers from Bank of America. Also, stretch your tax refund dollars and participate in a series of workshops from 9 a.m. to noon. Topics are: Understanding Your Paycheck, New Credit Card Changes, and Savings and Spending Tips.
