Promoting Literacy Initiatives

United Way of the Greater Capital Region focuses on promoting literacy through community investments, Born Learning/Success By 6, Literacy Task Forces and Family Literacy Festivals.

Literacy Task Force: The Literacy Task Force of Schenectady and Saratoga Counties are key contributing partners in promoting literacy.

Born Learning/Success By 6: The Born Learning/Success By 6 program serves as a catalyst and convener of community resources to ensure that young children have the opportunity every day for quality early learning and to support families and caregivers as children’s first teachers. Born Learning is an intensive prevention program that operates out of United Way Family Resource Centers.

United Way’s Born Learning program creates opportunity for success by ensuring that every child is emotionally, socially and academically ready for kindergarten.
