Each volunteer opportunity with United Way of the Greater Capital Region offers varying degrees of commitment. Each opportunity promises to be a great experience where you can learn, grow your resume and meet wonderful people.
UNITED WAY 2-1-1 NORTHEAST REGION CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
United Way 2-1-1 Northeast Region provides free, confidential telephone information and referral to human services for our 12-county population. Information is provided on issues concerning food, housing, child care, employment health care, senior care, substance abuse, mental health, financial problems, legal issues, volunteer opportunities and more.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)
VITA increases awareness about available tax credits for working individuals and families. One of the ways this is done is through free tax preparation at VITA sites located throughout the greater Capital Region. There is a training and certification process for tax preparers. Opportunities vary from site to site for other volunteer tasks.
