COMMUNITY INVESTMENT GRANT REVIEW PANEL
Help determine how United Way of the Greater Capital Region invests donor dollars in the community. Panels review applications from human service programs and collaborations to determine where UWGCR funding is best utilized. Training is provided and no previous grant experience is required. UNITED WAY 2-1-1 NORTHEAST REGION CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
United Way 2-1-1 Northeast Region provides free, confidential telephone information and referral to human services for our 12-county population. Information is provided on issues concerning food, housing, child care, employement health care, senior care, substance abuse, mental health, financial problems, legal issues, volunteer opportunities and more.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)
VITA increases awareness about available tax credits for working individuals and families. One of the ways this is done is through free tax preparation at VITA sites located throughout the greater Capital Region. There is a training and certification process for tax preparers. Opportunities vary from site to site for other volunteer tasks. Get the details.
