The Legacy Society of United Way of the Greater Capital Region

The Legacy Society of United Way of the Greater Capital Region is a special group of forward-thinking community leaders who have taken steps of perpetuating a gift to United Way of the Greater Capital Region. By doing so, they are extending their impact in the community to make lives better for generations to come.

Membership is offered to all individuals who have made a planned gift commitment to United Way of the Greater Capital Region, regardless of the amount, and who have provided the appropriate confirming documentation.

The following gifts qualify an individual for membership:

• Making a bequest to United Way of the Greater Capital Region through a will, livingtrust, or other charitable trust.
• Naming United Way of the Greater Capital Region as beneficiary of a charitable remainder trust or charitable lead trust.
• Participating in United Way Worldwide National Charitable Gift Annuity Program, designating United Way of the Greater Capital Region as beneficiary.
• Naming United Way of the Greater Capital Region as owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
• Naming United Way of the Greater Capital Region as beneficiary of all or part of a retirement plan.

Benefits of Giving

Leadership Society Members are:

• Recognized on a commemorative plaque at United Way of the Greater Capital Region's headquarters once their gift is received.
• Recognized in United Way's annual Leadership Giving Registry.
• Updated on activities and invited to UWGCR events.
• Assured children, youth and adults in our community have access to programs and services that help change their lives for the better.
