Community Impact
There are basic things we all need for a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, income that can support a family through retirement, and a healthy community we can all thrive in.
United Way is focused on the building blocks for a better life. Our goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of problems.
United Way achieves community impact using a two-pronged approach:
1. Impact investments - Donations from the community are strategically invested in programs and partnerships that address identified community needs and achieve measurable results. See the list of current program investments (pdf).

Did you know? The United Way-led CA$H coalition mobilized volunteers to prepare 10,639 tax returns at 54 sites across the greater Capital Region last tax season. United Way's CA$H partnership helped bring nearly $13 million in tax savings to hardworking, low- to moderate-income individuals and families. This is part of United Way's strategy to promote financial stability.
